The estimate says the job makes money. This shows how far the bank account drops below zero first, in which month, and how a deposit, a mobilization billing, or different sub terms would change that.

Cash by month, Oct 2026 to May 2027
Each bar shows the cash that came in minus the cash that went out that month. The line shows the running total at the end of each month. Months that end below zero are shaded and marked "below 0". The table further down lists every number.

Why these months are below zero
For each month that ends below zero, this shows what came in, what went out, and what you are still owed at month end. The money in and money out add up to the month's net.
No month ends below zero with these terms.

The estimate and the terms
Made for this sample: the Brookmere Family Clinic mechanical renovation, a fictional job. This sample shares nothing with the other samples.
- Ridgeline bills at each month end for that month's progress.
- The client pays 60 days after month end, less 10 percent retainage.
- Retainage is released 60 days after completion, in May 2027.
- Labor is paid in the month it is worked. Materials are paid 30 days after delivery.
- A deposit is paid back a little from each billing, in proportion to its size. Mobilization is billed up front in Oct 2026, and the later progress billings get smaller to match, so the total billed still equals the price.
- If subs are paid when you are paid, you hold back 10 percent of each sub payment and release it with your own retainage in May 2027. With Net 30, subs are paid in full.
